Intermountain Mathematics Competition

f16intermountainmathupdateLast years Intermountain Math Competition (IMC) was held on November 14, 2015.  The IMC is an annual Undergraduate Math competition for Universities in the Northwest region. The competition included students from Boise State University; Brigham Young University; University of Nevada, Reno; Idaho State University; and the University of Utah.  Boise State had six students participate in last year’s event. The participants had three hours to work on seven difficult problems, each worth 10 points. This the top scorer for Boise State last year has been Ian Cavey, with a score of 38. The highest score of 40 has been attained by a student from Brigham Young University and by a student from the University of Nevada, Reno. This gave Ian an overall third-place finish.
