Math for every application

The Department of Mathematics offers algebra and precalculus courses through the Math Learning Center. We also have courses in statistics, quantitative reasoning, discrete mathematics, and an innovative calculus series and beyond.

Get your degree in math

A math degree is a valuable stepping stone to many careers, including computing, consulting, data science, education, finance, security, and many more. We offer a Applied Math BS, with a possible Emphasis in Statistics, and a Math BS, with a possible Emphasis in Secondary Education. We also offer Applied Math and Math minors to complement your major, as well as teaching endorsements.

Graduate degrees

We offer MS in Mathematics with options in pure mathematics, applied and computational mathematics, and statistics, and an MS in Math Education for current and future secondary school teachers. With the Accelerated Master’s Program, you can earn a BS and MS in 5 years.

The Department of Mathematics has also teamed up with several others on campus to offer a PhD in computing with emphases in computational science and engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, and data science.
