Real Analysis Modern Techniques and Their Applications, 2n edition, by Gerald Folland, WileyInterscience, ISBN: 9780471317166. We will cover Chapters 1, 2, 5, 6 and if time 10.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The goal of this course is to give you working knowledge of basic concepts of real analysis, and elements of functional analysis and probability theory as time permits.
GRADING SCHEME:
Late Homework Policy: Homework should be turned in on the date it is due, and unless there are extenuating circumstances, there is a 10% per day late penalty.
Collaboration Policy: Students may collaborate on homework questions however, once you begin writing the version that you will submit, you may no longer collaborate on that problem. In particular, each student will turn in their own work, and there will be a penalty if students turn in the same work.
