TEXT: Differential Equations Computing and Modeling by Edwards and Penney.

GRADING SCHEME: Your grade will be determined by:

COMPUTER LABS: There may, or may not be formal computer labs. However, some homework problems will be assigned for which you will need Maple, Matlab, Mathematica or one of the recent graphing calculators (e.g. TI 89 or 92). It is the responsibility of the students to learn the software needed to tackle these problems.

HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned for each section, but in general, will not be collected. Some of these problems may appear on in-class exams, and they will help you with the more difficult problems on the graded homework. Most of the assigned exercises will have answers in the back of the book, so you can check your work. You will also have the opportunity to discuss them in class.
