"Employment of Recent Ph.Ds: How the Culture is
Changing in Higher Education"
ABSTRACT
Early post Ph.D years are crucial in career development and as the
climate in higher education has been changing, jobs are more difficult
to come by. As a Ph.D student at Arizona State University, I have been
participating in a Preparing Future Faculty program where we discuss
with professionals topics such as publishing, funding opportunities,
applying for jobs, interviewing and faculty roles. A brief presentation
will be made on these topics in order to begin a group discussion on
careers for Ph.Ds.
