MATH 275 and ENGR 397

Module 4

[Home][Module 1][Module 2][Module 3][Module 4][Diary][Old Exams]

Vector valued functions of several variables.

Vector-valued functions of several variables are also called vector fields. In the previous two modules the three space components of such functions were examined. In the third module geometric objects in the domains of such functions have been examined. This module is a synthesis of that knowledge, and an anticipated high point for engineering applications. The three fundamental theorems (Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem and the Divergence Theorem) are featured in this module. The relevant textbook material is from Chapter 14.

Estimate: 18 lecture meetings plus six ENGR 397 meetings (6 weeks). Final examination 200 points.
