The key here is advance notice. If you know you will be absent, you must let me know in advance. University policy 3120 says you must give your instructors at least ten days notice if you are going to be absent due to participation in an "official" university-recognized activity. With advance notice, we can plan to get assignments and tests in before you leave.
The in-class part of short in-class quizzes will be lost to you. But the follow-on re-do is open to you. The follow-on can be submitted via FAX or email.
If you are suddenly ill, be sure to give SOME notice as soon as possible:
A note from your doctor may be required.
- E-mail:
(plain text only, please, with a specific subject line starting with the course number)
- or leave a message on my answering machine (426-1175 or 6-1175 from a campus phone).
Ordinarily, there is no make-up test given after the in-class test has been given.
