During the course, your short-quiz total and test scores are each scaled to a percentage. These percentages are used to compute your overall percentage according to the following weight table:

You must pass the final exam to pass the course.
If you have passed the course, your letter grade is based on a standard scale in which an overall percentage of 90% guarantees an A, 80% a B, 70% a C, and 60% a D.
Pluses and minuses will be used for percentages which come close to the above cutoffs.
