identical lines (infinitely many crossing points)

4.5: 7-12 are really Assignment-#27 problems -- no e allowed. For instance, the 7(b) BOBA has e, but Assignment #27 does without any e.

4.5: 8, 10 (essentially Assignment-#27 problems)
4.5: 14, 22 (no e allowed: these are also #27 problems)
Modify problem 4.5: 24 by removing the sentence "It has been ... measured in hours" and replacing it with these data:

At 6 AM the body temperature was 81°F
At 10 AM the body temperature was 74°F
Again, no e allowed.

4.1: Sketch the graphs in problems 27, 29, 30, 34, 38 as the text asks. In addtion, label the intercepts, if any, with their algebraic exact coordinates. You may need to use logarithms for the x-interecept labels. This is a keep-your-calculator-turned-off gig.

Problems where we cook up alternate formulas for the rational function vi factoring and via long division: 3.6 odds 33-63. Note that you wouldn't do long division in 37, 39, 41, 43 because the numerator degree is less than the denominator degree.

Special Wednesday-Evening MATH 108 Begins 10/3/07

A special MATH 108:

A Hybrid-Lab-Computer-Aided Class with many resources and a lot of personal assistance available 85 hours/week.
First class 8 PM - 9:30 PM, Wednesday, 10/3/07
Ends in December with a final exam in the regular final-exam week.
If you are attentive and retentive, this should set you up to be attentive and retentive in MATH 143 or MATH 147.
Transfer from your 143 or 147 class to this ispecial 108 class can be done without a W on your record, provided you get yourself registered and in the game by 10/3/07.
If this class attracts you, do the following steps in order:

Go to the Bookstore and get a copy of the MATH-108 text.
Take the text with you to the MLC to get registered and set up with the MyMathLab computer system.
Watch the orientation video, like before the first class meeting.

This is another not-to-turn-in assignment. It is to do the 1.1 and 1.2 problems on pages 190 and 191 of the graphing-calculator manual (see link above).
Problems 13-16 on page 191 are among your instructor's personal favorites, although problems 1-12 are likely more important.
Most calculator-manual assignments will be not to turn in. But such questions will appear on end-of-class quizzes and on tests.
