Thursday, July 11:
Maple lab day. Since few labs have been turned in, I'm not adding an additional assignment. I do suggest that you might want to do the assignment for section 4.6 on Maple and turn it in electronically. If you do the similar problems in lab 2, you'll have a format for 4.6 problems which you can re-use.

It's also the case that the original lab 2 covered stuff we are doing just about now (or in the case of lab 11, starting on Monday): I don't know what I was thinking of!

The due date for Lab 2 is extended to the last lab period. There will be a shorter additional lab assignment given in the last lab period (covering chapter 5 material), which will be due at the end of the class.

I have marked and returned lab 1 for those who have done it. Please try to get it in: each lab will count as a homework quize, so there is some impact on your homework grade.

Monday, July 15:
4.7, 4.8

p. 334: 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 28, 30, 34, 42, 52, 54.

p. 344: 6, 10, 12, 16, 22, 24.

Tuesday, July 16:
4.9.

p. 349: 4, 6, 8, 12, 14, 24, 28, 34.

Wednesday, July 17:
4.10, 5.1

p. 356: 4-44 by fours, 46, 48, 54, 60, 62.

p. 376: 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 18, 20, 24.

Thursday, July 18:
Test III.

Monday, July 22:
5.2

p. 388: 2, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 22, 30, 32, 34, 36, 48, 50, 54.

Tuesday, July 23:

p. 398: 2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 18-38 even, 42, 46, 64.

Wednesday, July 24:
5.4.

p. 407: 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, 24, 28, 36, 46, 52, 54, 56.

Thursday, July 25:
Maple lab day. The third and last lab assignment consists of problems 1 and 2 in lab 13. The second lab assignment is officially due today (but as I have said before, I accept labs without late penalty until the end of the class).

I have changed my lab grading policy (partly because I made a mistake in writing assignment 1, and a corresponding mistake in grading it, and partly because on reflection I think this is a better approach). Complete labs will receive a full 10 points out of 10 (this is retroactive; unless you received a grade of 5 points because your lab was incomplete, you have been upgraded). I will still return marked labs with comments.

With all-or-nothing grading, the expected impact of handing in your labs on your homework grade is larger...

Monday, July 29:
5.5

p. 416: 2, 4, 6, 12, 16, 22, 26, 32, 44, 46, 48, 54, 62.

Tuesday, July 30:
5.6

p. 425: 2-10 even.

Wednesday, July 31:
review and/or catch-up?

Thursday, August 1:
Final exam.

Exam runs from 9:05--12:05 (there is no reason it should take anyone this long); open book but no calculators with graphing or symbolic computation.
