Syllabus
The subject of this course is Independence Results in Set Theory.
We will mainly focus on forcing.
There are typed lecture notes
that will be expanded as the course goes on.
For further reading, the standard text books on this subject
are Set Theory, An Introduction to Independence Proofs
by Kenneth Kunen
and
Set Theory by Thomas Jech.
Each of these two books covers the material presented in this class,
but we will take a slightly different approach.

Homework
The homework assignments will be included in the lecture notes and are
usually due on Wednesday the week after they have been assigned.
Homework must be neat and properly presented. If your handwriting is
poor, use TeX or Maple or something else to present your work.
Every assignment is to be completed by
you. You may work with others from the class on the material and you
may consult other resources, but what you hand in for a grade must be
your own work.
