Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Mathematics, starting in August 2010, to become a part of our team to continue our quest toward becoming a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. The Department of Mathematics at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, invites applications from candidates who demonstrate the potential to establish a strong research program in pure mathematics with interdisciplinary interests and who are committed to excellent teaching.

You will have the opportunity to:

    • Work with faculty in the Mathematics Department and also collaborate with other departments.
    • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

At a minimum you should have:

    • A doctorate in mathematics, which must be conferred by the starting date.
    • A strong background in a field of pure mathematics with known applications in other sciences and technology.

The preferred candidate will have:

    • An interest in developing positive working relationships between the Mathematics Department and other departments.
    • A record of engagement in and a commitment to interdisciplinary research founded in an area of pure mathematics.
