Students can schedule exams the week preceding or the first week of the Fall, Spring or Summer semesters. The syllabus for the exam will be given to the student at least ten weeks before the exam. Results will be given within two weeks after the exam. An exam can be taken at most two times, and the earliest an exam may be repeated is the exam period in the semester immediately following the original exam.

  1. It is recommended that students take the 514-515 exam at the beginning of the Fall semester immediately following successful completion of these courses.

  2. The second two-hour exam should cover a sequece of two courses. Examples include: 505-506, 507-509, 511-512, 533-536, 562-571, 562-572, 562-574, 565-566, 565-537.

  3. The oral exam will cover any deficiencies from the first two written exams. Consequently, the content and date of this exam will not be determined until after the results of the first two exams are given.
