Periodic orbits and Knots
Alexander Felshtyn
Boise State University
The lecture will discuss several interesting phenomena
(topological, algebraic, analytic and arithmetic) which
are observed in the study of periodic orbits of a dynamical system.
The main topics are:
1. Poincare-Hopf theorem and Euler characteristic.
2. Lorenz knots.
3. Sharkovsky ordering. Period 3 implies Chaos. Julia sets.
4. Reidemeister torsion, dynamical zeta functions andcounting periodic orbits.
All interested persons are welcome.
