THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
Jack Millward (1941-47) [Born c.1876, died 5 Apr 1947] John S. Millward appeared on tour as John Barnard in a play called A Broken Heart in the late 1900s or early 1910s. His only recorded roles on the London Stage came much later:in the pantomimes Puss in Boots (Lyceum, 1929-30) and Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp (Prince Edward, 1934-35). Millward joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company as a war-time replacement baritone chorister in October 1941. He remained with the Company until his death in April 1947. |
