THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
C. Morgan Gray (1951-56) Christopher Morgan Gray was a baritone chorister with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company from September 1951 to April 1956. He filled in on occasion in the 1952-53 season and in April 1954 as Pish-Tush in The Mikado. During his last three seasons with the Company (spanning 1953-56) Gray deputized for John Reed as Antonio in The Gondoliers and Second Citizen in The Yeomen of the Guard when the latter was filling in as the Duke of Plaza-Toro and Jack Point. Gray was married to D'Oyly Carte contralto Sybil Willey. |
